Neil Wilkinson was brought up in the UK and with frequent visits to London from an early age, he became captivated by the scale and presence of the city. It was a striking contrast to life in the rural suburbs where he grew up. This early experience shaped his enduring interest in how architecture and landscape influence our perception of space and place.

All of his work is developed from his own source material, gathered through everyday walks and observations of the environments he moves through.
Alongside his art practice, Neil is an art teacher, maintaining an ongoing process of learning that continues to shape his work.
Neil lives on the Sunshine Coast with his wife and daughter.
Passing Through
When titling my recent exhibition Passing Through, I recognised it as a thread running through all of my work — past, present, and what is to come. Whether exploring travel, architecture, or portraiture, the work centres on transition — how we move through spaces and carry those moments with us. Each piece captures a point of passage shaped by observation, memory, and perspective.
